A review on the inference of doping TiO₂ with metals/non-metals to improve its photocatalytic activities

Abstract The band-gap energy of TiO2 nanoparticles has been modified using different methods. study reviewed the effects doping and co-doing nanotubes with metals nonmetals to modify its band gap improves photocatalytic activity nanoparticles. From our findings reviewing articles, dissimilar metal ions like Cerium (Ce) together nitrogen (N) or chromium (Cr) iron (Fe) will decrease particle size, broaden area surface, as well modifies particle’s for visible light energize an electron causing movement from valance conduction band. studies also revealed that co-doping ion demonstrated twice photodecomposition gaseous-isopropyl alcohol when compared single (Cr/Fe) doped exposed light. work estimated optimal amount Ce Ce/N co-doped at 0.05 grams.
